Welcome to The New School.
The New School provides a truly remarkable and unique education. For students aged 12 to 18 who would benefit from specialist provision it offers the social and emotional support needed. They are able to flourish: gaining self confidence and self belief as well as developing sound relationships with their peers and others. The New School is a weekly boarding and day school and whilst operating with the Scottish educational system our students come from throughout the UK and also abroad. We are conscious that the New School will make a long term impact on the lives of its pupils and so we pay great attention to the issues of moving on.
The School is committed to an education that is centred on the whole child and enabling each child to play as full a part in life as possible. Education is seen not only as a preparation for life, but also as an essential part of life itself. The varied experiences of education at The New School enable each child to achieve, and to gain personal fulfilment. They help form a rich foundation for the future and equip them for the challenges ahead. The provision at the New School is complementary to mainstream education and we work closely with government, local authorities and other schools and colleges.
