The New School

ACADEMIC LIFE : Tutors

school tutor

The School operates a tutorial system which gives each pupil a singular contact person who takes a close interest in all aspects of the child's life at School.

The tutor takes a special interest in the pupil's progress in general and in particular with class subjects and activities.

Importantly they act as a link between pupils and class teachers, and also between pupils and their parents.

Their roles are also structured within the School in that they have regular and frequent tutor group meetings where matters such as best use of time and preparation for exams and extra-curricular activities are discussed.

Tutors also attend annual review meetings where they report on pupils' progress in general.

The importance of these tutorial arrangements in The New School cannot be over-emphasised.
