Welcome to the end of term blog - as Christmas gets closer and we all prepare for the festivities in our own way. Many of you will have attended either our Pantomime or our service at Dunkeld Cathedral or both. The support we receive at our various performances is greatly appreciated and encourages our budding actors, musicians and singers to practice their skills and improve their performances. This year was no exception and we as a staff team were so proud of the hard work put in by the young people… a good time was had by all. Pictures will follow. Christmas is always a time for remembering those no longer with us and we remembered Iain and Sam who left us in 2016/17. Although it is always sad to lose people we are able to remember how much light they brought to others too. We look forward to 2018 and the new challenges it will bring. Soon will be time to be planning activity week, more adventures for those engaged in DofE, ably led by Gillian, cranking up the gears for those students who will be taking exams and working on new educational projects which will enable young people to develop new skills and increase knowledge. The New School never really stops, we just re-charge our batteries! January is the month of night walks for residential students so warm coats and head torches will be preferable…wellies too! We would like to hear from anyone who has any suggestions for the destination of our activity week…Allistair will be grateful to receive ideas by e mail. The Friends of The New School will hopefully be launched in 2018 and we look forward to expressions of interest from people who would like to help us develop this new initiative to help spread the message and fundraise… and have a good time too!
On behalf of everyone at The New School may I wish you peace and happiness for Christmas and the New Year. Chris Holmes
